Des Plaines, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's tennis team fell 6-3 to Oakton on Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 0-1 overall and in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) competition as Oakton moves to 1-1 and 1-0.

Vanesa Cardenas and Melanie Ulrich paired up in No. 1 doubles and fell 6-1 and 6-0.

Giselle Brito and Alisa Donga played No. 2 doubles and lost by the same scores.

Cardenas fell 6-1 and 6-0 in No. 1 singles as Ulrich was topped 6-1 and 6-2 in the second spot.

Donga lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and Brito fell 6-0, 6-1 in the fourth spot.

The Spartans host the College of Lake County on Thursday at 2:45 p.m.
