Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's soccer team won one and lost one in its second week of competition.
The Spartans move to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.

Jacqueline Alvarez scored the first goal at the 4:48 mark to take an early 1-0 lead.
The Lancers countered just three minutes later to tie up the game.
CLC continued to show its offensive strength to enter halftime with a 4-1 advantage.
Elgin played strong defense in the second half to not allow any goals, despite the 4-1 loss.

Peyton Kohn's first collegiate hat trick highlighted the women's dominant victory.
Adeline Kinsella netted the first goal at 4:48, Elena Carlos scored at 19:01 and Julissa Ortiz recorded the third goal of the first half at the 31:30 mark.
Kohn scored goals within 29 seconds of each other to extend the lead to 5-0 with 25 minutes remaining.
Carlos scored her second goal of the game in the 67th minute as Kohn closed out the game with a goal in the 81st minute to clinch the 7-0 win.
The Spartans travel to face Moraine Valley on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
