Elgin, Ill., Sept. 11, 2021 - The Elgin Community College women's soccer team continued home play
The WolfPack moves to 2-1-1 as Elgin goes 1-2-1.
ECC attacked early, hitting the post just seconds after the whistle blew. Two more shots came from Elgin in the first 10 minutes as they commanded early in the game.
Madison found its first goal at 31:56 and its second at 39:39 to give them the 2-0 lead heading into the half.
Elgin came out aggressive in the second, earning a corner kick just minutes into the second half. The opposing goalkeeper caught the ball on the initial kick, but it bobbled and dropped, allowing Guadalupe Sanchez to kick it past the keeper.
Kaley Kowal tied the game up at 56:41, as she dribbled solo down the field and her footwork put the ball past two defenders and the goalie.
The teams continued the back and forth on the field, but neither was able to score as the game ended in a 2-2 tie.
The Spartans host Prairie State on Sept. 15 at 4 p.m.
