Seven from Soccer Earn Multiple Honors

The Elgin Community College men's soccer team had seven individuals earn All-Region and/or All-Conference honors for their performances during the 2024 season.

In his first year at the helm of the program, head coach Dimitri Tsoukalas was named the Conference and Region Coach of the Year. He led the team to break multiple records, including most wins (15) and best start to a season (4-0-1). The team was also featured in national rankings for the first time in program history and were featured in top 20 rankings in six different weeks.

Adrian Diaz headlined the players as he earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference honors. He started 21 games and recorded 16 goals and four assists to total 36 points. Diaz finished the season ranked third in Region 4 in goals and fifth in points.

Ariel Gomez was named First Team All-Region and Second Team All-Conference for his performance. He started 17 of 19 games played, scoring eight goals and registering two assists for 18 points.

Gabriel Arias earned Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-Conference accolades. He started 20 of 21 games played and tallied six goals and one assist.

Christian Escobedo was named Second Team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-Conference. He recorded six goals and 11 assists in the 20 starts he made this season. Escobedo ranked third in the region in assists.

Brandon Gonzalez was voted the Conference Goalie of the Year and First Team All-Conference. He started 21 of 21 games played and recorded 76 saves and seven shutouts.

Reyli Perez earned Honorable Mention All-Conference status and started 16 of 21 games played with two goals and one assist.
