Palos Hills and Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's soccer team moved up to No. 16 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Weekly rankings.

The Spartans recorded its third and fourth straight shutouts with 1-0 victories at No. 17 Moraine Valley on Tuesday and over Black Hawk on Saturday.

Oct. 8: ECC 1, MVCC 0

Gabriel Arias scored the game-winner with an assist from Adrian Diaz in the 42nd minute.

Arias and Diaz both recorded four shots and combined for five on goal. Brandon Gonzalez grabbed four saves in the contest.

Oct. 12: BHC 0, ECC 1

Diaz scored the lone goal in the 59th minute with an assist from Ariel Gomez. Gonzales registered three saves in the game.

The Spartans face No. 10 Prairie State on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
