Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's soccer team was edged 3-1 by Moraine Valley on Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 4-7-1 overall and 2-4 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play as the Cyclones improve to 4-2-1 and 2-2-1.

Ruben Guadalajara scored the sole goal of the game with an assist from Tyler Buthman. Iker Villagomez recorded eight saves throughout the contest.

MVCC scored in the 17th minute and held onto the lead for the duration of the game. Their second and third goals came in the 75th and 77th minutes.

Guadalajara's goal came in the 83rd minute to prevent the team from being blanked.

The Spartans take on No. 11 Prairie State at home on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
