Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's soccer team clinched a 2-1 win over Harper on Thursday afternoon.

The Spartans improve to 3-4 as the Hawks move 0-3-1 to in their overall seasons.

Victor Plet led the offense with one goal, an assist and four shots, including three on goal. Joel Gutierrez scored a goal and tallied three shots. Iker Villagomez recorded seven saves.

Plet netted the first goal in the 21st minute to enter halftime with a 1-0 advantage.

Harper tied it up but Gutierrez found the back of the net with three minutes remaining to earn the 2-1 win.

The Spartans host Triton on Saturday at noon.
