Des Plaines and Elgin, Ill. and Ottumwa, Iowa: The Elgin Community College men's basketball team went 1-2 in games this week.
The Spartans move to 7-16 in their overall season and 3-5 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.
Jan. 28: ECC 79, Oakton 105
Three scored double digits including Davee Flowers (22), Xavior Gonzalez (19) and Tristan Walton (12).
Other team leaders included Josiah Mayes in rebounds (eight), Gonzalez in assists (four).
Jan. 30: Lake County 85, ECC 101
Flowers scored a season-high 43 points with eight rebounds and eight steals to lead the team. Mayes registered a team-high five assists.
Jan. 31: ECC 57, No. 3 Indian Hills 108
Elgin competed well with the third-ranked team in Division I, leading throughout the first half and trailing by just four at halftime. The Warriors showed off its offensive strength in the second half to clinch the win.
Flowers scored 18 as Jalan Alphonse and Walton each scored 11. Mayes grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds as Gonzalez recorded four assists.
The Spartans are back on the road to face Morton on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m.
