Freeport, Ill., Dec. 11, 2021 - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team went 1-2 in tournament play, good for a fourth-place finish, at the Highland Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
The Spartans move to 5-5 on the season.
Game One: Olive-Harvey 68, Elgin 64
Jordan Wilkins led the Spartans with 21 points and two steals. Aaron Hawthorne and Selle Dime each grabbed eight rebounds, as Dime registered a season-best 16 points.
Game Two: Elgin 73, Kennedy-King 62
Wilkins and Justin Henderson tallied 15 points with Henderson recording a season-best 16 rebounds.
Game Three: No. 17 Southeastern 91, Elgin 57
ECC fell in the third-place game to Southeastern (Iowa), ranked 17th in Division I.
The Spartans travel to No. 4 Milwaukee Area Technical College on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
