Elgin, Ill., Nov. 16, 2021 - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team secured a 76-67 victory over the College of DuPage on Tuesday.

The Spartans improve to 3-2 as the Chaparrals dip to 2-3.

Luke Difrancesca led the men win 19 points and seven rebounds as Justin Henderson recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Wilkins tallied 12 points and five assists as Selle Dime scored 10 points, including a dunk, six rebounds and a season-best four blocks.

The game started evenly matched before the Spartans found a six-point scoring streak for a 16-10 advantage seven minutes into the contest.

Aaron Hawthorne and Wilkins hit back-to-back three pointers followed by a bucket from Henderson to increase the lead to 10 points with four minutes remaining in the first half.

Damir Glamoc hit both of his free throws for the 37-28 lead entering the second half.

The Chaps tightened the deficit up to five points with a six-point run five minutes in, but Difrancesca made a three-pointer to cushion the Spartan lead once again.

ECC held COD scoreless for six points to lead by as many as 17 with six minutes left in the game.

The men would hang on for the 76-67 victory.

The Spartans are slated to host No. 1 Kirkwood on Saturday at 3 p.m.
