Palatine, Ill., Nov. 2, 2021 - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team opened its 2021-22 season with an 84-69 win over Harper College on Tuesday night.

The Spartans move to 1-0 as the Hawks dip to 0-1.

Luke Difrancesca posted a team-best 22 points to lead the Spartans. The first-year center added nine rebounds and one assist in 27 minutes of action.

Jordan Wilkins posted 19 points, a team-high six steals, three rebounds and three assists while Damir Glamoc tallied 12 points, four rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes off the bench. Justin Henderson registered a team-best 10 rebounds.

ECC held Harper to 35.7 percent shooting in the first half and 45.8 percent for the game and forced 22 turnovers.

The Spartans held a 39-24 lead entering the second half before scoring an additional 45 points for the final 84-69 win.

Elgin hosts Madison College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
