No. 21 Baseball Advances to Region 4 Finals

Elgin, Ill. - The No. 21 Elgin Community College baseball team earned three wins in the Region 4 Semifinals to advance to the Region 4 Finals next week.

The Spartans improve to 40-12 in their overall season.

Game One: Milwaukee Tech 0, Elgin 8

Josh Caccia earned his ninth win of the season after pitching seven innings and recording seven strikeouts.

Andrew Flynn collected a team-high three RBI with Aiden Kashuba scoring three runs. Jack Kerno, Cole Clemens and Flynn each doubled in the game.

Game Two: Moraine Valley 2, Elgin 6

Leth Pearson registered his seventh win in eight innings with seven strikeouts. Jim Bluemling pitched one inning of relief and struckout two batters.

Chris Lara brought in two RBI as Peter Mitchell recorded a double and a team-best two hits.

Game Three: Milwaukee Tech 2, Elgin 10

Jaden Alberson picked up his fifth win of the season as he went five innings and struckout four batters. Aidan Stratton earned his third save of the season.

Four players tallied two RBI, including Mitchell, Nick Weaver, Daniel Blickhan and Wyatt Sabalaskey. Kashuba collected four hits as Clemens recorded three.

The Spartans travel to Madison to compete against Madison, Black Hawk and Kankakee in the Region 4 Finals on Thursday. The winner advances to the World Series.
