Peru, Ill. - The Elgin Community College baseball team won 8-1 over Illinois Valley on Friday night.

The Spartans improve to 28-17 in their overall record.

Aiden Kashuba tallied three RBI as Jack Kerno and Patrick Nelson registered two each. Daniel Blickhan recorded the team-high two runs.

Noah Schlup earned his sixth win of the season with seven strikeouts in seven innings. Jim Bluemling and Sean Riordan pitched one inning apiece and allowed one hit and no runs.

Illinois Valley scored its sole run of the game in the bottom of the first inning.

ECC scored two in the second and fourth innings, one in the third and three in the sixth to clinch the 8-1 victory.

The Spartans travel to face Black Hawk for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon.
