Kankakee, Ill. - The Elgin Community College fell 4-1 to Kankakee on Friday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 7-11 in their overall season.

Nick Weaver registered the sole RBI of the day with Chris Lara scoring the run. Troy Petty registered a team-high two strikeouts in two innings.

The Cavaliers scored the first run in the bottom of the first inning.

Lara and Josh Collins got on base to lead off the third and both advanced on a wild pitch. Weaver's single allowed Lara to score to tie it up at 1-1.

Kankakee scored two in the runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to hand ECC the 4-1 loss.

The Spartans host Aurora JV for a single seven-inning game on Thursday at 3 p.m.
