
Elgin, Ill., Oct. 19, 2021 - The Elgin Community College women's soccer team fell to fifth-ranked South Suburban in the final regular season home contest of the season.
The Spartans dip to 5-7-1 as the Bulldogs improve to 13-1.
Elgin started out on top as Kaley Kowal was the first to put a point on the board when the team was awarded a penalty kick at 10:29.
South Suburban took control of the game after, scoring four goals in the remainder of the first half.
The Bulldogs tallied an additional five throughout the second half to run the score up to 9-1.
But the Spartans were not going down without a fight as Kowal scored her second goal of the game with 1:23 remaining.
Natalie McGinnis took the kick earned from a foul from way out and snuck it into the top right of the net to end the game at 9-3.
The Spartans travel to Wisconsin on Monday to face Bryant and Stratton at 7 p.m.
