Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team was edged 78-73 by Waubonsee on Tuesday night.

The Spartans move to 9-20 overall and 3-10 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.

Four players scored double-digits including Sarah Duque (17), Nevaeh Howard (16), Kelechi Uchem (15) and Ari Marchan (10).

Team leaders were Ari Franco in assists (eight), Uchem in rebounds (nine) and Duque in steals (four).

ECC trailed 23-12 after the first quarter but rallied for 27 points in the second to enter halftime with a 39-38 advantage.

The game remained close with Elgin leading by three points after three quarters. Elgin was unable to hang on in the fourth quarter to ultimately fall by five points.

The Spartans travels to Cicero to face No. 1 Morton on Thursday at 5:15 p.m.
