Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team was narrowly edged 60-58 by Moraine Valley on Tuesday night.

The Spartans move to 6-10 overall and 0-1 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play as the Cyclones improve to 8-6 and 1-0.

Team leaders included Sarah Duque in points (13) and Kelechi Uchem in rebounds (nine). Duque, Uchem and Ari Franco tallied four steals as Duque, Franco and Takara Campbell registered three assists.

ECC trailed 21-14 in the first quarter but tied it up 30-30 entering halftime. MVCC held the advantage at the end of three and held on to hand Elgin the two point loss.

The Spartans travel to Chicago Heights on Thursday to face Prairie State at 5:15 p.m.
