Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team defeated Madison 86-63 on Thursday afternoon.

The Spartans improve to 6-9 in their overall season.

ECC shot .463 from the field and recorded its most points in a game all season.

Kelechi Uchem and Sarah Duque scored a season-best 26 and 14 points, respectively. Nevaeh Howard and Ari Marchan also tallied double-digits with 12 and 11 points. Nine of Marchan's points came from three pointers.

Takara Campbell led the team in assists (six) and Tatianna Brown, Duque and Howard recorded three steals apiece.

The Spartans host Moraine Valley for its first Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) game of the season on Jan. 10 at 5:15 p.m.
