Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team was edged 61-56 by Carl Sandburg on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 5-8 in its overall season.

Despite trailing by as many as 22 points, the women chipped away at the deficit in the second half to fall by just five points.

ECC is back in action to host Kishwaukee on Dec. 20 at 5 p.m.
