Des Plaines, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's soccer team was edged 1-0 at Oakton on Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 4-6 overall and 2-3 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play as the Owls improve to 3-3 and 3-2, respectfully.

Oscar Jimenez recorded three shots, including a team-high two on goal. Omar Olivo, Jesus Alonso and Miguel Navarro each registered one shot on goal.

Iker Villagomez tallied eight saves in the goalie box.

Oakton scored the lone goal of the game in the 44th minute, as Elgin was unable to counter before suffering the loss.

The Spartans host Governors State on Thursday at 2 p.m.
