Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team picked up an 85-79 victory over Harper on Thursday night.

The Spartans improve to 2-13 overall as the Hawks move to 5-11.

Derryl Gaddi netted a season-high 30 points to lead the offense. Isaiah Smith and Ian Smith scored 18 and 13 points, respectively.

Other team leaders included Ian Smith in rebounds (nine), Isaiah Smith in assists (seven), Gabe Wright in steals (five) and Maduk Deng in blocks (three).

Elgin hosts Lake County to open conference play on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
