Malta, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team was edged 99-83 at Kishwaukee on Tuesday night.

The Spartans move to 1-13 as the Kougars improve to 6-7 in their overall record.

Elgin struggled in the first half as they entered halftime at a 48-26 deficit. Despite outscoring Kish in the second, they were unable to make up the difference as they lost by 16 points.

The starters all scored in the double digits, with Isaiah Smith (18), Gavin Khounnoraj (17), Gabe Wright (16), Meek Ater (13) and Derryl Gaddi (12).

Team leaders included Wright in rebounds (10) and Khounnoraj and Is. Smith in assists (four).

The Spartans are back in action at home when they take on Harper on Jan. 4 at 5:30 p.m.
