South Holland, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team suffered a 62-84 loss to No. 5 South Suburban on Tuesday night.

The Spartans move to 0-4 in their overall season as the Bulldogs improve to 2-0.

Team leaders included Darrell Island in points (16), assists (five) and steals (two) and Isaiah Smith in rebounds (seven). Meek Ater and Isaiah Smith also scored double digits with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

ECC was down 30-40 at halftime, but SSC continued to extend its lead to result in the 62-84 final score.

The Spartans host Rock Valley on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
