Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team came back from behind to secure a 78-76 victory over Morton on Tuesday night.

The Spartans improve to 12-11 overall and 4-3 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play as the Panthers move to 13-8 and 3-4.

Team leaders include Jadon Melvin in points (26), Melvin and DaRon Hall in rebounds (six) and Carson Seyller in assists (three).

ECC trailed 45-36 at halftime and were down by as many as 14 points in the second half. The team continued to chip away at the deficit to tighten up the game.

Elgin took back the lead for the first time since early in the first half after a six-point run with minutes remaining.

The game was tied up 75-75 with 15 seconds left on the board. Morton made one free throw as Elgin grabbed the rebound on the missed shot. Hall ran it up the court and tossed it back to Melvin who scored the game winning three-pointer.

ECC travels to Des Plaines to face Moraine Valley on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
