Sugar Grove, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team was edged 86-79 by Waubonsee on Thursday night.

The Spartans move to 11-11 overall and 3-3 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play as the Chiefs improve to 14-6 and 3-3.

Elgin trailed 15-5 a few minutes into the game before they began chipping away at the deficit. They trailed by one with eight minutes remaining in the first half and entered halftime at a 35-35 tie.

ECC fell behind 51-44 five minutes into the second half. The rest of the game was up and down but Waubonsee held the advantage to hand Elgin the loss.

The Spartans host Morton on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m.
