Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team was edged 75-70 by Madison on Thursday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 8-8 in its overall season.

Top scorers included DaRon Hall (19), Dorien Little (17) and Jadon Melvin (16). Hall led the team in assists (three) and Melvin grabbed the team-high 12 rebounds.

Elgin led 42-33 at halftime, but Madison slowly chipped away at the deficit in the second half to come out on top.

The Spartans host Moraine Valley for the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) opener on Jan. 10 at 7:15 p.m.
