Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College basketball team fell 71-69 to No. 14 Kirkwood on Tuesday night.
The Spartans move to 1-2 overall in their season as the Eagles improve to 3-0.
ECC shot 47.4 percent from the floor and 37.5 percent from the three-point range.
DaRon Hall and Chase Travis scored the team-high 15 points with Dorien Little and Jadon Melvin each scoring 12 and grabbing five rebounds.
Kirkwood hit a buzzer beater from the three-point line to clinch the 71-69 win over Elgin.
The Spartans host Aurora University JV on Saturday at noon.
