Fort Myers, Fla. - The Elgin Community College baseball team fell 10-2 to previously ranked Florida Southwestern College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Spartans move to 0-2 in the season.
FSW took an early lead as they scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
In the fourth inning, Logan Riley got on base followed by Erik Teran earning a walk. Patrick Nelson singled to center field to bring in Riley for the Spartans' first run of the game. Nathan Euliano hit an RBI-single to right field for the second run of the inning.
Florida Southwestern scored three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, sixth and seven innings to hand Elgin the 10-2 loss.
The Spartans face No. 17 Delgado in a doubleheader on Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m. CST.
