Ralph Riske returns for his 18th year as an assistant coach for the Spartans.

He is the team's hitting coach and had been a key contributor to the overall success the Spartans have had over his tenure. In 2009, Riske helped the Spartans to a school record .378 batting average.  The Spartans offense has been a consistent strength of the ball club year in and year out under Riske’s tutelage. 

Besides being the hitting coach at Elgin, Riske is one of the most well-known hitting instructors in the area. He does private lessons and works with several travel ball clubs. Riske has been instrumental in helping several players continue their careers at the university level by spending countless hours with them in their training.

Along with coaching, Riske is charged with making sure that the Spartan Baseball Field remains as one on the nicest natural grass fields in the area.
